Beautiful

Have you ever noticed how many beautiful bloggers there are out there?  For me, I think the beauty of one's personality is the real determining factor in whether I find someone beautiful.  Yes, there is external beauty, but if a pretty person has a nasty attitude toward everything, I do NOT find them beautiful.  I do however think that a lovely personality can be seen shining through externally.  Maybe I see so many gorgeous bloggers because they have such outgoing, positive, and encouraging personalities.

But that thought brought me to another question.  Lot of bloggers post self-portraits.  Do you think they see how beautiful they are?  Do you see it in your own photos?  I do not consider myself one of the beautiful bloggers I am writing about.  I don't have the external beauty so much, and I am not sure if the beauty of my personality is able to shine through on my blog.  I hope it is, but I just feel like there is so much of me that I am still unable to express.  I know when I look at my own photos, I can point out about a hundred flaws in just one photo.

Is the key to feeling beautiful having confidence?  Is it dressing yourself up to feel good?  Is it just letting your happiness shine through?  What is it that you find beautiful in your fellow bloggers?

I think something I need to work on is seeing my own beauty.  If I cannot see myself as beautiful, even if it is in an unconventional way, then how can I expect anyone else to recognize it.  I definitely need more confidence.  I am trying to work on dressing myself up to feel good each day rather than being in sweats all the time.   And I'm just going to let my happiness shine through.

Here is what I think we should all do today.  Go visit a blogger that you think is beautiful and let her know.  I think it will mean a lot to her to know you see the beauty that she shows on her blog.

This is so true, beauty is not just external appearances, it is amplified by personality. The honesty and candidness of a blogger is what keeps me coming back to read more. Being a size 2 with perfect skin is not what makes a good person. In real life and blog life I like to surround myself with people who share the same interests as myself and while they may struggle through certain events, they come out stronger each and every time. Life isn't perfect, but the way we handle it shows what kind of person we are. I think you are a beautiful person; your blogging gives us a glimpse into the type of person you are and I read every single post you make because you are the type of person I want to surround myself with. Keep it up.

Well I couldn't miss a chance to pop in and reply to your post.
I think I am drawn to you and your post "because" you are beautiful inside and out!
I love to read your honest and candor moments and feel I am a part of all you share.
I only wish I had your common sense and ability to write so openly when I was your age- heck I still wish I could!
I have confidence but not so much for my outward beauty- I think I don't worry about that as much any more the older I get.
I don't always pop in to comment but I am out here cheering you on and sending positive vibes on those days when you need a hug.
Thanks my beautiful friend

You have always been beautiful Michelle! I really hope we are stationed at the same base together again in the future (I tell this to Micah all the time). Hint Hint: we will probably try to get Lewis as our next post, and I think you would just love it there.

Well, I must say that I always enjoy reading your posts. Though I do not "know" you, I think your beautiful personality shines through.

i came over from the milspouse roundup!
first off, i think we ALL see our own flaws, or want what we don't have. i have stick thin straight hair, i've always always wanted beautiful curls like you have! and most of the time we pick ourselves apart more than others do, sometimes we just have to push "submit" and not look back, ahaha!

love this post! it really made me think about what i gravitate towards. i guess the bloggers i find most beautiful are the ones who are willing to be real and are good at telling their story - whether it's through photos, design, writing, or all three. some of those folks, i don't even know what they look like! thanks for the thought-provoking questions! :)

I agree with your beauty perspective. When I post a self photo, I generally think "oh my, this belly is getting huge."
