Quick Update

Hey Everyone...how I've missed you all!

I'm posting a quick update because my power cord has decided to temporarily work.  It's been almost a week without a laptop, and I clearly am very dependent on technology because this week has been killing me.  Thank goodness for my ipad, but it just isn't the same as my laptop.  My new macbook should be here Wed/Thursday.  (Darn weather seems to be delaying FedEx in my area--apparently they didn't get my memo that I NEED a laptop!)

So let's see, what have we been up to?  There has been lots of rain leading to lots of indoor time for me and the boys.  In fact we are going a bit stir crazy.  Thankfully, Ryan will get to see the kids at school tomorrow morning.  Sean has been sleeping really well lately too, which is great for me.

Guess what I'm doing tomorrow?  Mailing the LAST package to my hubby!  That's right the Stop Mail Date has finally arrived.  But before you get too excited, it's still quite far away from homecoming.

There is so much I want to write, but I've got lots of work and file saving to do on this thing before the power cord quits again.  I'll be back to commenting on all your blogs soon, I promise.  Thanks for understanding!

I'm Still Here

Hi everyone! I am still here, but trapped without a laptop. I believe this is a mild, modern day form of torture.

The cord on my laptop will no longer charge it at all. My battery is dead, and there is nothing I can do. (This is on top of my failing hard drive.)

I call this the dark age. I am falling behind on reading all your blogs.

Right now I am blogging from my iPad, which means doing the one finger peck typing--not ideal for blog posts. Not to mention that my blog feeder on my dashboard doesn't load right and neither does my google reader. Am I supposed to do something to use blogger on an iPad? Any ideas people?

Do not worry though. A new Macbook was purchased today. Did you know they introduced a NEW MacBook Pro this morning? I call that perfect timing.

Here is to hoping it arrives soon! Thanks for sticking with me. I will definitely have a lot to say when I have access to a laptop again.

Menu Board Craft

Sometimes I like to browse the internet looking for new crafts.  Since my crafting skills are limited, there aren't too many crafts I feel confident that I can replicate.  I saw a few different versions of menu boards online and really wanted to make one.  I even found a suggestion in my Real Simple Magazine.

You'll need a picture frame with the glass.  I chose a 12x12 so that there would be no cutting involved, and I needed enough room for the days of the week to all fit.

Select a piece of scrapbooking paper.  Remember if you get the 12X12 frame there is no cutting ;)
I cut the words/letters from cardstock with my Cricut and added a few embellishments.  You have so many choices on how to make yours unique and to coordinate to your kitchen.

Then you place it in the frame and use dry erase markers to make your menu for the week.  A tissue wipes the marker off the glass, and you can use it to plan out every week.

Stomping My Feet

I thought I was going to have another great day.  Both kids slept through the night and didn't wake up until 6:45 a.m.  Things were looking up.

Until...

My big dog decided to attack my little dog.  My big dog has had a very tough medical life.  She's relatively young, but has a couple of medical conditions (that cost me and my husband a small fortune every single month).  Some of the things she's experienced in her life have affected how she behaves.  She really is a good dog, but sometimes she loses her mind.  She thinks she is in a dominance battle with my little dog.  Because of the nature of these attacks, I try to keep the dogs separate most of the day.  Well, after today's incident, they will be kept separate at ALL times.  My morning was quickly going downhill starting with this attack.

Then after dealing with the dogs, I realized Sean had dialed on my cell phone and woke up someone from my volunteer job.  (Yes, I usually lock my keys, but I forgot when I was trying to save my little dog.)  I apologized and quickly got off the phone.

When Sean was up from his nap we headed out to the grocery store.  As I was pulling out of my driveway, I realized I forgot to put the trash can out, and it was most likely too late.

We arrive at the grocery store and painlessly completed our shopping task.  Or at least I thought we completed it until we were pulling off the highway returning home.  Tomorrow night I have to deliver a meal to someone in the FRG.  I was planning to make a lasagna.  Well, it might have been important to buy ricotta cheese!!!! Dang it!  At that moment I wanted to have my own little temper tantrum and go around stomping my feet.  I know it won't help anything, but sometimes I think that would make me feel better.

So now, after the afternoon naps maybe we'll run back to the grocery store again

Is it bad that I cannot wait for Wednesday when I have nothing planned and no obligations?

Wonderful Sunday

Today was a great day at my house.

The morning started out enjoying some fresh air with our friends that were down visiting.  The boys all loved running around and playing.

After our company left, Sean took a much needed nap.  I had promised to take Ryan out to buy a toy because he had been such a good boy for a while.  When Sean woke up, we headed out to Target.  As we were entering the store, Ryan said he wanted to find Pig and Spaceman.
Picture from Toys R Us
You see, when a Fisher Price catalog comes to my home, Ryan carries the "magazine", as he calls it, around for days (perhaps even weeks).  He brings it with him in the car, or to the table at dinner time.  He studies it and usually finds one particular toy that interests him.  I knew he had been interested in the pig toy, but I didn't think that was what he wanted to pick out for his new toy when given a whole store to choose from.  Sure enough though, he was very certain he wanted that pig.  I didn't think target had it, but we looked anyway.

Target did not have it, and Ryan did not want to settle for anything else.  I told him we could look at another store,  or we could have the mailman bring him the pig.  I knew the whole mailman bringing it would not fly because he wanted it NOW.  (I don't think a 3 year old understands the waiting part of online shopping.)

We stopped at Toys R Us next, and when I finally found a section of Toy Story toys, the pig wasn't there either.  I was getting worried on how I'd solve this situation without Ryan getting upset.  I had the item number from the web on my phone, so I told Ryan we'd ask.  Thankfully they did have it.  They led us to the correct aisle and handed Ryan his new toy.  I told him I was happy they had his pig there, and he said he was too.  It really was a cute moment to see such a big smile on his face.  (and all because of a $15 pig!)

We headed home, enjoyed some lunch, and got ready for nap time.  Sean didn't take his nap; he's kind of off schedule after having company.  Sean and I enjoyed swinging out back for a while in the gorgeous weather.

But the best thing about today was that the boys ended up being in great moods.  I was smothered in kisses, hugs, and them blowing raspberries on me (If you could only see Sean doing this!  Often times he blows the berries before he puts his mouth on you and then just drools on you, but it is so worth it!).  I think I could feel my heart swell from all the love they were showing me.  At the end of the night, I told Ryan that I had a lot of fun with him today to which he replied, "I had a lot of fun with you today too, Momma."  And he gave me a big hug.  Days like this remind me why I want to spend every minute possible with my boys before they grow up and don't want to play with their Momma anymore!

MilSpouse Friday Fill-In #30

1. What is your favorite MilSpouse blog (not including Wife of a Sailor who we all love, or your own)? submitted by Our Crazy Life
Just like I'm sure most of you are going to say, there are too many great ones to pick just one.  I'm thinking of putting some in my sidebar soon.  I'll definitely start with my real life MilSpouse friends because they are awesome.  So check back when I stop being lazy! ;D  Let me know if you'd like to be on my blogroll too!

2. What are your favorite perks about your s/o being deployed (we all know there are perks)? submitted by Ramblings of a Marine Wife
*We save LOTS of money that we probably wouldn't otherwise.
*Deployment is like a great class in learning how to communicate better with your spouse.  Since you only have short periods of time to talk/write, you make sure you say the important stuff and always end with an I love you.  We should be like that more often and deployments are a reminder.
*Is there anything better than getting a homecoming?  It's like a new honeymoon period all over again. Most people don't get to experience that more than once.

3. How long did you date your before getting engaged? Married? submitted by Utterly Chaotic
We got engaged after dating about 1.5 years.  We started dating the very beginning of Sophomore year of college.  He proposed at his military ball the end of our Junior year.  We were married after dating a little more than 2.5 years and less than a month after our college graduation.

4. What do you think your would do if s/he wasn’t in the military? submitted by Adventures of M-Squared
He may have gone to law school, or maybe he'd be teaching history.  Our life sure would be different; the military has been part of our life since we started dating in college.  I can't imagine our life without it.

5. If you could talk to the Secretary of (fill in your appropriate branch) what is one suggestion you would like to bring to their attention in order to improve the lives of military families?  submitted by My Life as His (Air Force) Wife
This is a tough one.  There are so many important topics that should be discussed.  I would probably want to point out the effects of frequent deployments on children and families from my personal point of view.  I think they need more dwell time between deployments.  I know the Army is aiming for this, and I hope we actually see it.

Bittersweet (Maybe TMI)

It was almost 2 years ago exactly that I wrote this same post.  Tonight I put Sean to bed for the first time ever without nursing him.  I've been more than ready to stop breast feeding, but I knew it would be a hard adjustment for Sean.  It breaks my heart to take something that he enjoys away, but I really think he is also ready.  It is so hard to end that routine though.  He is not weaned yet, in fact he nursed today before his naps, but I've officially started the process.  There is no turning back now.

I was a bit sad to think that I didn't savor our last nursing session, which may sound weird, but it is a special connection we shared.  However, I am confident that Sean and I can still have the special connection just in a way that goes beyond nursing.  While I may no longer provide him with the comfort of a breast, I am able to soothe him by hugs, kisses, rubbing his head, and rocking my sweet boy.

He was slightly upset when we went to the chair and I did not feed him.  It was heartbreaking to see him upset over it, but within just a minute we both found comfort by gazing into each other's face.  I watched my little boy peacefully find sleep and comfort, and that soothed my heart.  I savored that moment.

I will admit, that tonight I am really sad.  I know I am doing the right thing for us though.  I have given him over 16 months of breast feeding, and I will give him a lifetime full of love.  Even though we are ending the nursing, we will still share special moments everyday.  My little baby is becoming such a big boy, and it is bittersweet.

Tomato Sauce

Someone once told me that after you make your own tomato sauce you'll never go back to the stuff in the jar.  I thought they were exaggerating a bit.  Shortly after that I decided to make my own just to try it.  I thought it was good, but I also thought opening a jar was easier and tasted pretty good too.  Well the next time I ate jar sauce, I couldn't believe how awful it tasted in comparison to making my own.  In my mind I thought jarred was pretty good, but after tasting homemade I just couldn't go back.

Here's the thing I need to confess though.  I use canned tomatoes.  So for me to make my own, I am really just adding a bunch of ready made ingredients together for the most part.  It feels like cheating, but it tastes really good.  Maybe one day when I have more time on my hands I'll be able to use fresh tomatoes, but until then canned tomatoes are working just fine.

There are many, many different recipes out there.  You can even just wing it and add stuff by taste if that is your thing.  There is no wrong way to make it.  I make it a very simple way.  Here's what I use and how I do it.

Add some chopped onion and garlic with olive oil to your pot.  (I enjoy making it in my Le Creuset, and it is super easy to clean up afterwards.)
I use a can of tomato sauce, a small can of tomato paste, and a can of diced tomatoes.  For the diced tomatoes I like the Italian seasoned kind with basil and oregano.  I buy whatever is on sale or the best deal.  I mix and match brands, and it tastes fine like that to me.
I add some ground beef to my onions, garlic, and oil if I am making a meat sauce.  Brown the beef.

Add the diced tomatoes and stir.
Add the tomato sauce.  It will be a bit thin at this point.
Then I add the tomato paste to thicken it up.  You can add as little or as much as you want until you find the thickness you like.
I like to sweeten my sauce up a little.  I add a little regular sugar.
And a bit of brown sugar too.  I personally like adding the combination of them both.
If you add too much sugar and your sauce seems too sweet, adding some more tomato paste usually tones down the sweetness.
That's all you have to do to have a delicious tomato sauce that is much better than out of the jar, I promise!

Full of Love

As I mentioned yesterday I planned on celebrating Valentine's Day today.  I got too busy to prepare for it when my family was visiting, and at least this way I saved a bunch on the candy.  I wanted to buy the kids a little something to show them I love them.  I enjoy giving gifts, and this day gave me an excuse to pick up a little something for them.  I went shopping at target after dropping Ryan off at school.  I mostly purchased lots of candy for a care package for my valentine that is currently living far, far away.  I also got a few fun items for the boys.

After school a Valentine's Day gift from my hubby showed up.  He had told me it would arrive today, so that was another reason to hold off and celebrate the day today.  Pat picked out another charm for my Pandora bracelet.  I love the fact that each charm is something special Pat picks out.  I love the newest charm.  It is the Love Me Black Mother of Pearl charm.  I think he did an excellent job!

It was definitely a day full of love around here.

In other topics, I've been having a lot of trouble waking up in the mornings lately.  I am completely exhausted.  I'm thinking I need to go to bed earlier.  I just can't pull myself away from the computer and TV.  I really would like to get more productive during he kids' nap time, but I'm always just too tired.  I am hoping more sleep at night will help.  We'll see how it goes.  I have lots of big plans to organize the house before my hubby comes home.  I just need the energy to do them.

As I sit here typing away, I just looked out the window and saw an absolutely beautiful sky.  What a great way to end the day.  Skies like this lift my spirit and remind me we are never alone in this world.  Today I was surrounded by beauty and love.  I could not ask for more!

Rewind

Happy Valentine's Day!  I hope everyone enjoyed their day to celebrate Love.  I decided that I'm going to celebrate Valentine's day tomorrow.  I can do that; I'm the boss around here.  I'll probably post more about that later.

I know I haven't posted in a while.  I was just spending a weekend with my parents visiting.  The kids and I tried to soak up every moment with their Grammy and Grumps visiting, and we had a wonderful time.

The weather finally gave us a break from winter, and it looks the warmth may last the whole week.  Ryan has school tomorrow, and I need to catch up with cleaning.  (What I really mean by that is catching up with my blog reading and then procrastinating on the cleaning.)  I'm looking forward to reading what everyone has been up to.

More to follow soon!

Two Bottles of Coke

In an attempt to explain my final header photo, let me begin by telling you where those two bottles of Coke came from.  Back in May 2010, we took our family on a block leave vacation to Atlanta, GA.  While that may not be the most glamorous vacation spot, we were traveling with two little ones and didn't want to travel too far.  There is a lot that we wanted to do down in ATL like the Aquarium, Zoo, a children's exploration museum, and of course the World of Coca-Cola.  Our hotel was in an AMAZING location right near most of the activities we wanted to do.  But let me be honest about something, traveling with Ryan at that age was a bit difficult.  He had trouble adjusting to sleeping in the hotel rooms, and eating at restaurants with him sometimes drove me and Pat mad.  I'll even tell you, we actually ended our vacation a day early.

Now maybe it is my deployment point of view or hindsight being 20/20, but that was such a special vacation for our family, even with all the difficulties of traveling with kids.  We had so much fun at all the attractions we went to.  We played in Centennial Olympic Park.  We bonded together as a family.  And truth be told, that was our first solo family vacation since our honeymoon.  (Our honeymoon was a FAIL in many ways, but that story will come another time.)  We've gone to Disney World with my family a few times, but we hadn't taken any time to go places just our family (and I am even talking before we had kids too!).  No matter how challenging Ryan was at that time, I will always look at that trip with such fondness.

So that brings me back to the Coke.  One day we toured World of Coca-Cola.  Pat is just slightly obsessed with Coke.  He was so excited about this stop on our trip.  We knew that Ryan wouldn't enjoy the tour all that much, but being a lover of soda just like his Daddy, we knew the end where you can taste the flavors from around the world would win him over.  We had to slightly hurry through the tour, but it was still enjoyable.  After the three of us tasted the flavors from around the world (poor Sean was too young to sample the soda), we were each given a bottle of Coca-Cola to bring home as a souvenir.

Here I'll interrupt this story just to mention that Pat went back to the World of Coke gift shop at least 3 times during our stay in Atlanta.  I will not share how much money he spent there.  I told you, he is obsessed.

When we returned home, those glass bottles of Coke sat on Pat's dresser for a while.  As Pat's deployment approached, I knew I wanted to take a special moment and enjoy those bottles together before he left.  The night before Pat left for his third deployment, right after the kids were in bed and the dishes were done, Pat opened those two bottles of soda for us.  I had never told him I was planning on us drinking them that night, but he seemed to know and have the same idea.  We shared a few minutes reminiscing and telling each other how much we loved one another and would miss the other one while we were separated.  It was the perfect "toast" for such a night.

The empty bottles from that night sat on the counter a few days.  I couldn't bring myself to throw them away.  I finally moved them to my windowsill by the sink, where they still sit today.  I had planned on maybe filling them with sand, but never got around to it.  Every time I see those bottles, I think of the night before he left and our conversation.

However, I also have to share this part of the story because it is so typical of Pat.  When Pat came home on R & R he turned to me one night and said, "So you've been drinking my soda?"  He was referring to the bottles that we drank the night before he left.  I told him he was a moron and that we had drank them together the night before he left.  He said "Oh", but it was clear he didn't remember.  Obviously that night made a bigger impression on me than on him, but that is okay.  I will cherish the memory from that night.

We still have two more glass bottles of Coca-Cola from our trip to Atlanta.  They are on Pat's dresser where they will sit until he returns from this deployment for good.  I plan for us to drink those in another "toast" the night he returns home.  Hopefully that night will be one he remembers!

Nintendo Style

I'm probably going to date myself with this post, but who remembers the original Nintendo?  Do you remember blowing into the cartridges before starting the system so that they'd work?  If not, you totally missed that memo in your childhood.

Well, I'm basically reliving those years with the power cord for my macbook.  It started giving me problems a few weeks ago.  It's kind of a chicken or the egg debate on whether it started giving me problems before or after my youngest son, Sean, started chewing on the end of it.  Although I'm pretty sure the chewing was a large factor in the problem.

I'm desperate to get the computer to charge.  I've tried blowing on the piece that connects to the computer.  What good will that do, I'm not sure.  I've found that I can get it to start charging if I hold the cord just so.  I've had the cord strung around the cabinets, wedged an aquaphor bottle into the cord and computer, ran the cord around the seasoned salt bottle, etc.  Thankfully, these crazy tactics are working for the time being, but I'm not sure how much longer it will cooperate.

Also remember there is a post a few weeks back about how my internal hard drive is also dying on me.

Obviously it's getting time to think about buying a new laptop.  As you saw in my last post, I'm saving for one at the end of the deployment.  I really would like the computer to survive until my hubby gets home though.  The computer is not the top priority on the savings list.  I would rather purchase the more important things before the computer (like the new car).  Plus there is the fact that I would be so confused and getting all my documents onto the new computer from my backup.

If you don't mind, cross your fingers that my Nintendo style blowing and all the cord wrapping will get me through the next 23% of the deployment.

Buyers Remorse

I don't really enjoy spending money.  In fact, it makes me rather anxious.  Plus there is the fact that Pat and I are saving for a new car, a new laptop, and our block leave vacation just to name a few really big and expensive things.

Yesterday I had my eye doctor appointment and was even able to get over to the optical center on post before I had to get the kids from daycare.  I knew they were very expensive there, but I had seen a lot of glasses that looked promising for being "the pair".

The few pairs that caught my eye in the other days I had stopped in the store just weren't right for me.  The pairs with the wide sides, which seem to be in style right now, just look and feel kind of silly on me.  I wish I could pull off something that is trendy, but I think I'm just more classic. So I wasn't left with too many options that actually looked good, but there was one pair that was perfect.  I knew they were expensive, but I liked them, I'll wear them most of the time, and they solved my black/brown dilemma on frame color.

All that said though, as I was paying for my new glasses that cost a LARGE fortune, I couldn't help but second guess the purchase entirely.  Do I really need new frames?  Should I really spend this much money on them?  Can't I find cute cheap ones?

In the end, I'm justifying it with the following thoughts:  I wear the glasses most of the time.  I want a pair that makes me feel good and confident.  I want them to look nice.  They'll last a few years.

Oh and in case you were wondering, these are the glasses I bought.

Do you ever have buyers remorse?  Ever have it over something as silly as eyeglasses?

Quiet Sunday

I would have called it a lazy Sunday, but I don't feel so lazy after running on the treadmill, lifting weights, and doing the dishes all before 9:00 a.m.  Now before anyone new reading thinks I'm a hardcore exercise person, think again.  I just started trying to run on the treadmill.  I am only able to run about 1.3 miles right now.  I'm working on it.  I can also say that I already feel ready for nap time.

Did you know it is Superbowl Sunday?  I didn't until I read another blog.  I guess that is what happens when your husband is deployed and you don't really care which team wins.  We are Patriots fans here.  So the only plan we have for the day is a quick trip to target for a new Scooby Doo DVD.  My oldest son, Ryan, is obsessed with it.  He calls him Doo-Doo.  What is cuter than that?

Tomorrow I go to the eye doctor and with any luck I'll have enough time to pick out frames before I have to get the kids from daycare.  So help me out, if you wear glasses, what color are your frames?

Happiness for a MilSpouse

Happiness for a MilSpouse is...
getting official word that your
Donut of Misery

to now being at 24% to go.

If you aren't a MilSpouse or a real life friend of mine, you may not understand what this really means, but trust me when I say it is good news!

Wishing the Day Would End (Yesterday)

Yesterday was a rough day, but in the grand scheme of things it wasn't too bad.  It was just filled with several mishaps.  Here are the things that went wrong yesterday (and I put a few comments with them):

*Broke a full length mirror yesterday.  (7 years bad luck?)
*Got the boys' hair cut yesterday, and they buzzed Sean's hair super short.  (They buzzed Sean's hair way shorter than Ryan's.  It isn't a big deal, but I do like the kids to have similar haircuts.  Instead my baby has short hair and my older one has the normal length, which I just think is weird.)
*Everyone looked at me like I had six heads at the grocery store.  (I'm not sure why everyone looked at me funny.  Maybe it was senior citizen day and I stuck out?  I mean I was dressed in real clothes, the boys were dressed, and they sat and behaved in the little car attached to the cart.  What more could anyone ask for?  Please people, stop staring.)
*Accidentally locked one of the dogs outside.  I didn't realize our beagle was outside when I shut the house up to go run errands.  Poor Bailey was locked outside on the cold 28 degree day.  Thankfully the sun was out for him.
*Bailey (from above incident) jumped on me and got mud all over my sweater.  (Payback for being locked out?)
*Dogs ate the Donut Holes.  (When I got home I was taking off my boots.  Ryan had climbed over the gate to the kitchen.  When he did that he stepped on a bag and the donut holes box opened.  The dogs devoured them.  So I paid money for donuts we'll never eat and then had to make other plans for breakfast.)
*Sean was super fussy in the afternoon.  (Screaming and crying child, maybe teething--enough said.)
*Forgot to switch over the laundry last night.  (At least I remembered before I had to wash it again though.)

But despite all these mishaps, I did have a couple good things happen yesterday.
*Found out Peppermint-Mocha Coffee-mate is now available year round.  (My wish has been granted!)
*Got to spend the day with these awesome boys:

and that makes it a good day!

Beautiful

Have you ever noticed how many beautiful bloggers there are out there?  For me, I think the beauty of one's personality is the real determining factor in whether I find someone beautiful.  Yes, there is external beauty, but if a pretty person has a nasty attitude toward everything, I do NOT find them beautiful.  I do however think that a lovely personality can be seen shining through externally.  Maybe I see so many gorgeous bloggers because they have such outgoing, positive, and encouraging personalities.

But that thought brought me to another question.  Lot of bloggers post self-portraits.  Do you think they see how beautiful they are?  Do you see it in your own photos?  I do not consider myself one of the beautiful bloggers I am writing about.  I don't have the external beauty so much, and I am not sure if the beauty of my personality is able to shine through on my blog.  I hope it is, but I just feel like there is so much of me that I am still unable to express.  I know when I look at my own photos, I can point out about a hundred flaws in just one photo.

Is the key to feeling beautiful having confidence?  Is it dressing yourself up to feel good?  Is it just letting your happiness shine through?  What is it that you find beautiful in your fellow bloggers?

I think something I need to work on is seeing my own beauty.  If I cannot see myself as beautiful, even if it is in an unconventional way, then how can I expect anyone else to recognize it.  I definitely need more confidence.  I am trying to work on dressing myself up to feel good each day rather than being in sweats all the time.   And I'm just going to let my happiness shine through.

Here is what I think we should all do today.  Go visit a blogger that you think is beautiful and let her know.  I think it will mean a lot to her to know you see the beauty that she shows on her blog.

Tissue Paper Heart Wreath

I love making easy crafts.  One of the things that is important to me in selecting a project is finding one that doesn't need too many items in order to complete it, and it is a bonus if I already have the items for the project on hand.  While browsing through different crafting projects on the internet, I came across one that gave me the idea for this craft.  Unfortunately I lost the page right after I glanced at it.  However, the craft was very similar to the headband/flower pin I made from Little Miss Momma's tutorial that I posted about HERE.  (There is a link to LMM's tutorial in my previous post.)

For this craft you just need a coat hanger, glue gun, and some colored tissue paper.  (I used about 3.5 sheets of tissue paper I had from a Victoria's Secret shopping trip.)

For me the hardest part of this craft was bending a wire coat hanger into a heart shape.  I kept the hook to hang it with.

Then you start applying squares of tissue paper in the same manner you did for the headband pom poms.

Continue gluing the tissue paper all around the heart shaped hanger until it is all filled in.
And there you have it!

See, I told you it would be easy.  My kind of crafts are the ones that just need a glue gun!  Super easy, super cute, and I didn't have to buy a thing.
