Get Pin-spired

One of my favorite bloggers to read, Mel @ The Larson Lingo, started a new link-up with a couple of her friends where you use Pinterest to inspire your outfits.  My first reactions was, "that's a good idea, but I don't think my closet has anything I could really use in it."  However, I decided to try it anyway, and it turned out to be fun.  I have to admit I really did get "pin-spired"

So I started off with this:
And I realized that my shirt is a bit too short.  So I went back to Pinterest and found some more inspiration to evolve the outfit.  I found the two pins below.  One is a photo of Lindsey from The Pleated Poppy.

So I decided to modify my outfit a bit too.
Overall, I was able to do it.  None of my shirts were as long as I needed them to be, and wearing the brown and black together was out of my normal comfort zone.  However, I did find out that I can totally shop my own closet and Pinterest is a great inspiration.

I decided to try a second pin-spired outfit.  This one was a bit easier for me both with what was in my closet and staying in my normal comfort zone.

I'm so glad that I tried using Pinterest as inspiration for outfits.  It helped me put things together in ways that I may not have thought of otherwise.  Plus it was fun to try to recreate the cute outfits with stuff that I already had.  I'm looking forward to trying some more outfits next month.

I love the pink scarf outfit! And the boots--I have been looking for a pair of brown riding boots with no success. All of the stores seem to be clearing out their stock and it is only Feb 1! I know it is AL, but we still have about three cold weather months left~

Thank you for the comment--I would try Belk for their CK red jeans, I like these because they are not too low and I don't feel like my undies are hanging out. :D
